Why is a co-rotating twin-screw extruder required for TVP production rather than a single-screw extruder?
Soya protein texturization is a complex rheological process. Proteins must undergo intensive thermochemical protein denaturation and molecular alignment under high temperature, high pressure, and controlled mechanical shear. A single-screw extruder lacks the distributive mixing capacity and independent shear speed control needed to process dense, high-protein formulations without clogging. Co-rotating twin screws generate positive displacement and self-cleaning intermeshing profiles, ensuring uniform Specific Mechanical Energy (SME) transfer and a high-yield fibrous bite.

Soya flour is highly abrasive. How durable are your screws and barrels under continuous high-shear?
For heavy-duty TVP extrusion, we construct our screws using high-grade 38CrMoAl alloy steel treated with deep nitriding, achieving a surface hardness of ≥HV850 and a case depth of 0.5–0.8mm. This provides exceptional wear resistance under intense mechanical stress. For plants running highly abrasive formulations (such as high-ash grain combinations), we offer premium bimetallic barrel bushings to double the nominal wear life, thereby safeguarding your Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimizing downtime.

Can your standard TVP lines also manufacture HMMA (high-moisture plant-based meat)?
Standard dry TVP operates at 15%–30% moisture and utilizes a face-cutting die for instant steam flash-off and expansion. HMMA requires a wet texturization process (50%–70% moisture) to achieve authentic plant-based meat textures and must solidify under continuous cooling. Our high-torque twin-screw extruders are fully capable of both. However, producing HMMA requires exchanging the standard rotary cutter for our specialized water-jacketed long cooling die and installing high-precision liquid dosing pumps. Please contact our team for a dual-purpose line configuration.

Do you provide standard raw material formulations and ingredient blending support for new TVP factories?
Yes, absolutely. We do not just sell machinery; we deliver operational success. Every turnkey TVP project includes our field-tested formulations (optimized for defatted soy flour, soy protein isolate, pea protein, and wheat gluten ratios).
